I’m often asked, “Christy, do you still shoot weddings?” My answer; No! And also Yeah?! lol I like to keep my“main focus on” birth, maternity, newborns, babies & families!
I only take on less than 5 a year! And only by a referall base! Weddings are HARD work! They take a lot of time and they are emotionally taxing! Plus, we have some of the BEST wedding photogs in our area! But I am always thankful for friends and client referrals.
With that said, I love the day when it comes and all the details and exitment that goes into the day! I still enjoy working weddings, especially when my husband and I get to work them together. And this wedding was extra special, because our little Leona was a part of the day. And I am talking an 11 hour + day! She was a trooper and such a big help! Leona was even helping out the Bride’s grandma making snack trays! lol We love that she is at that right age where she can really be a part of our jobs!
I first met Aly & Jake last October when we went to New Harmony (my fav place) to take their engagment pictures. Aly’s Aunt Rachel was the one who had referred her to me. So I was instantly excited to meet them both! The moment I met them on Main St. in New Harmony I could feel how much they both loved each other! They were so comfortable with each other in front of the camera. It made their session a breeze! We had a lot of fun and the day was absolutely perfect! Jake has a bright future ahead and is working on finishing up his nursing degree. Both of them are deticated to build a wonderful life with each other! I can’t wait to see where life takes these two! It was truly a beautiful day! I loved getting to document this joyous day filled with love! I asked Aly & Jake to share their story:
“The first time Jake and Aly met; they both knew that there would a great future ahead of them. A few weeks later and some more time spent together learning more and more about one another, Jake asked Aly if she would want to be his girlfriend. Ever since that moment, their lives have been inseparable.
Some of their fondest memories together come from all of their amazing trips and vacations they have taken together. Going to water parks, baseball games, cabins, and so much more. Aly and Jake can both agree, that if it wasn’t for Aly’s adventurousness, these trips would be nothing but an idea. Even without these trips and vacations, the two have enough memories together from within the places they have called “home.” Like laughing so hard tears run down their faces, screaming their favorite artists in the car, and spending time with each other’s friends and family.
Jake proposed to Aly on her family vacation to Orange Beach. During the last day, her family planned to take family photos. When Jake and Aly were getting their photos taken, her family told her to look at something in the distance. When she turned around Jake was on one knee. Needless to say, Aly said yes.
Our wedding on July 6, 2024 was the most beautiful and memorable day of our lives. Surrounded by all the people who love us the most. We are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together!”
Enjoy highlights from the day! It was a very HOT day outside, but cool inside!
